Reno, Nev. – The Davidson Institute for Talent Development announced the 2016 Davidson Fellow scholarship recipients for projects that have great potential to benefit society. We will have three of the award winners on our stage in order to recgonize their great contributions and accomplishments.

Ganesh developed a system to predict and prevent autistic “meltdowns” using a mobile application, wearable device, and desktop and mobile applications. The wearable device has sensors that measure and interpret the stress level of the wearer, and will signal the caregiver on their smart phone when symptoms of a meltdown are detected. Poux, a cancer survivor, began developing his project with a goal to help those battling cancer. His project, which he calls Skittles, is a genetic construct that labels and tracks cells by using colors. A cell possessing Skittles is randomly assigned one of 25 color combinations, which would allow that cell and any cell divided from it to be tracked based on its assigned color.
